Thanks for posting this... Double Dose was my record label (and radio show). We only released this single and another one by Silent Types (a band featuring Mark Beer also). Silent Types was single of the week in the NME ! Here are some pics of Mark Beer at that time: //www.newwavephotos.com/gallery.php?name=MarkBeer&num=B

Wow! Very heartfelt review about a beer with total awesomeness! I just finished my first glass, now, and, I can't help but agree. (Also, I'm waiting on a winter storm; your 95 degree Louisiana heat was nice.)

+Tee55118 Yes, you all have a big, bad storm on the way. Sorry 'bout that. Hey, thanks so much for watching, Tee55118. I appreciate it!

The marvel of these is that they can get the alcohol up to that level while still making it taste like a wonderful complex ale. I think under old Belgian brewing traditions, a double ale meant double the malt, a triple, triple the malt. But then you also get the alcohol levels doubled or tripled. I'd like to know more about the 'dark sugar syrup' that they use. Plus I think given the fermentation processes, this boosts alcohol.

That's a good question, and I'm not sure, Charles. It would be interesting to find out, though.

Well reading their website, the color of the sugar syrup matches the brew. So in this case it would be a lighter colored syrup. But what is that? Like a dark Karo syrup?

I feel like Dos Equis and Heineken taste similar. I used to enjoy both those beers but i have noticed that they are watered down. I think a blind taste challenge of Rolling Rock, Dos Equis, and Heineken would be interesting.

+Aaron ChandI never had that problem with it.

+Ronald Theriot the thing about Carlsberg its one of those Beers that kills your thrist when your thristy its a good summer beer
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
I think it would be Hard for me to figure out which ones which. I think i could figure out which one is Rolling Rock.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xnalakWY-9Q/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAU0/qmOZnxcwdhI/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Juan Chavez That would be an interesting one, but I bet I could easily pick out Heineken.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
i just got a 12 pack of the bottles. on the case it says 5% abv
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xnalakWY-9Q/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAU0/qmOZnxcwdhI/photo.jpg?sz=64
They do that, in Europe, because of high abv taxes in different countries. I don't know what the deal is with Colt 45.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
sounds like COLT 45 their ABV is all over the place
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xnalakWY-9Q/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAU0/qmOZnxcwdhI/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Tommy Sands Yes, and this beer can vary in abv, depending on which country in which it is sold.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
Thanks for the review. I've always enjoyed Carlsberg. I had it off the tap once.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xnalakWY-9Q/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAU0/qmOZnxcwdhI/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Nick Hen I've not had it in that configuration.
