Picked up a slim for free with the flashing red dot (center) Stats: no hard drive installed, EVER. no warranty, no other lights on or flashing, no ring lights on. Power brick is green. Would love to here a credible Idea on how to fix it, if possible.

Me too man I tried everything I tried a hair drier in the vent I let it sit overnight nothing changes but yesterday it turned on and said the dashboard needs an update and then the screen started flipping out so I turned it off and it was the red dot again someone help please I miss advanced warfare!

cool fucking ryobi tek4 screw driver... i got a kit with that 4v screw driver, a cutting gun like it for plastics vinyls and soft things, noise suppression headphones for shopwork microphone included and mp3 aux conection, a flashlight thats bright ass shit and a portable powersource / cellphone charger or ipod charger all run with the same 4v Lithium Ion battery.. Im not rly a ryobi fan, but this green and gray tek 4 tool kit for $60 bux owns.... i got it when it came out like 3 years ago

And don't get me wrong, I'm not being a fanboy here, it's just that if those are the reasons you're getting a PS3, your priorities are mixed up. The PS3 has some excellent games and has a low failure rate. Thanks to the newer Xbox 360S, the failure rates have dropped on them as well. The game library is fantastic and it's a very well-executed online environment. Both have pros and cons, to each his own.

I had a warranty on mine. The disc tray wouldn't open, so I sent it in. They returned it saying it's not covered under the warranty. They also kindly tore off the microsoft sticker and made it look like I was trying to pry it apart with a screwdriver (big red arrow stickers to point it out). They said my warranty is now voided, BUT they fixed it.
