Well I've had fillings with and without the numbing shots, I can honestly say that the pinch of the shots is worth it because you're relaxed the entire time. However, if the dentist uses the tool by doing strokes in the spot and never just constantly rubbing it on, it doesn't hurt that bad. Overall either way, it's nothing incredibly painful.

I'm getting two of my teeth filled and I'm really nervous. My dentist caught them very early on and that they will get filled, I'm just super nervous because I've had a lot of painful shit happen in my mouth.

I had both of my wisdom tooth remove on my right side, they did put a lot of anesthesia but once I wore off I kind of hurt but been taking Advil so far so good, lots of ice cream and rinse warm water with salt.

I have a temporary filling and am awaiting a root canal in 2 weeks. (I had a chipped tooth from a dentist a few years ago & it got infected no matter how well I brush and floss). This new dentist gave me Tylenol 3 (w/ codeine) and it has not helped. I take them more often than I should and even take 600mg Motrin as well. I know this is not healthy, but I've been in so much pain I can't see straight. I tried the salt & pepper one, the only one that I had the ingredients for, and it seemed to help for a few minutes. But now my mouth tastes like pepper and my tooth still hurts. Going back to my dentist tomorrow to get something else for pain.

+roger1611 you can feel it at night because it's the only thing you're thinking about. during the day your mind is occupied. I"m feeling it now because I just ate and now I"m thinking about it. I called the dentist for antibiotics until I can get in there. (I need a root canal but it has a temp filling). I HATE DENTISTSSSS!!!!!! (ok, not the actual dentists.. just the procedures, lol).
