Hi Ania,Glad you like the video! This does work on thicker yarns as well, though a needle with a very large eye is certainly helpful! Happy crocheting!

I wondered what I was suppose to do with the ends and noticed my last project, also my first the knitting was coming undone and then read somewhere I was suppose to weave in the ends, in order to keep that from happening. I am so glad so many knitting videos exist on You Tube.

i'm so glad i aw this!! I'm working on this scarf and i'm adding colors, but i didn't know if i should just cut off the useless ends or not. Sadly i did cut off a few at the beginning and they sorta came undone, but now i know!!

@magdalena2113 It's not likely to come apart if you weave the end in well.

great tutorial. I've been doing my own locs since day 1. Then I decided to let someone else do them because I didn't have a good grid set up. But paying someone to keep my locks up is hard on the pockets, so I gotta go back to self maintenance....just not with a crochet hook...no ma'am! it'll take me time to do my entire head, but that's ok. Your videos just gave me hope. Thanks

It is a metal yarn needle. They are available at big box craft stores in the section where they have the yarn. I have a video showing how I modified it to use on my locs.
