Not sufficiently clear to give me the confidence to try & "counting flashes" not very reliable either. Why not just have your dealer read the codes. They do this at no cost so they can advise you what may be faulty & the cost for them to fix. You don't have to commit to a repair ........................

Bullshit .. HSV charged me $121 to check and told me all good... Then as I drove out the oil abs and engine electrics lights cam on :(

Dealers do charge for this. Do you think that asking for their equipment and their labour time will cost nothing and then you go off and fix the problem cheaper and they lose out on more business. I dont think so. Tell us what dealer will do that so I can ring them.

@SuperFatboy000 It can be done, But you have to take the car to a mechanic shop or some one who has a Tech 2 scan/diagnostics tool, or either fix the problem that is causing the light to come on. There is one thing you could try tho, go and reset the computer, do this by disconnecting the battery for a few mins. Let me know how you go mate.

my mate ha a vz commodore he just had it serviced i reset the trip computer doing the hold the buttons thing and said no service codes but has a check engine light and says check powertrain what dose that mean on these commodores as i am a ford person lol.

Hmm soudns like there is a error code of some sort there. you will need to pull the code from the ECU and find out what the prob is.

Put in the key turn the ignition on, then press both up & down buttons on, for about 5 seconds, then take off the up & down buttons depress mode button again for about 5 seconds, thats it ?
