Well really a Clip and Magazine are 2 completely different things. A Clip is a device used to load magazines or load ammunition into the internal magazine of a firearm like that of the M1 Garand. A Magazine is a detachable spring loaded system used to feed ammunition into the receiver. So really he is not trying to be a smart ass by correcting you, a magazine and clip are 2 different things and you really should learn the difference before you get all defensive about him correcting you.

A machine gun like the Bren is meant to be used as a light infantry support weapon, not a heavy machine gun like say a MG 42. The Bren is meant to be carried from place to place and provide accurate suppression fire for infantry support, where an MG 42 can be used the same way but with less mobility. A heavy mg is meant to sit in one spot and lay down continues fire. Individual clips are less trouble to carry around while moving around and providing support.

The only reason the magazine is on the top of the weapon is so that the support gunner firing it could shoot from a stable flat position without having to hold his gun up so his magazine wouldnt touch the ground and he could fire more accuratley. The sight is moved off to the right while the magazine is in the middle.

The 'Sight' you are referring to is the magazine Release clip. If you look at 0:32 you will see the sight, it looks similar to that of Browning M1919. As for your thing about bullets passing through Tornados, there's not a single bloody tornado where I come from, so you'll have to find out yourself.

there is a sight on the side at the front and at the back (the back one is not visable) and you aim using those it makes it kinda awkward but its a really nice gun

I doubt it, I wouldn't want to be hit by a Bren bullet, anyway, different roles yet I'd admit that the MG-42 would be shit scary to be in front of.

no, they are two very different pieces of machinery. They just both have a curved magazine mounted vertically on top of the weapon.

The sights are offset to get round the mag. As a bonus the shooters head enjoys a lower profile when firing prone. :)
