The only woman, aside from my mom, that I've ever heard have a nuanced and compassionate view of young boys. My entire childhood, I felt like there was this notion (often playful, sometimes malicious) that I, as a boy, was a problem to be dealt with; That I was simplistic and irrelevant, and that I didn't have complex emotions, as if everything I thought was part of some pathology I would inevitably need to grow out of. The way she addresses boys is extremely refreshing. I wish she had written this book when I was in school. Would have made dealing with all my teachers a bit more easy.

Considering that this is TYT talking about gender issues, I'll admit right up front that I thought, "Oh boy, who did Cenk trot out now to (ahem) discuss the male experience, and basically bash those with XY chromosomes? Another woman who thinks she knows what it's like to be male.... awesome..." Well, wasn't I pleasantly surprised! To say that Rosalind demonstrated a breadth of knowledge that basically trumped the entirety of TYT staff is not an understatement. While I do not agree with everything she said, it was overall a great interview. I also found it refreshing to see some acknowledgement of double standards that negatively affect men on TYT for a change.
