I'm 99.9% sure cylinder 1 on this engine is at the clutch side of the engine, but the speaker indicates this as no 4 which would be incorrect.

+maffysdad. Hi. I am sure the cylinder n01 is not by the side of the clutch. N 01 is on the front by came shaft polly.

OK but people looking to replace a belt won't get anything from this because the salient points are. Missing.

Hi.ferkemall. Do you mean came pullies. If you have the special too;s to lock the cames while you are setting timing you tighten the pullies.

H, Blazej. To take timing cover you must take timing belt first. For the pulleys you can leave them at last. But is more easy to remove the cover when the pulleys are not there.

I have a leak between head and timing cover. So i want to remove it and seal with Loctite 518. I changed timing belt, tensioner and water pump 2 years ago so don't want to remove it. I think i can do that but (as you said) i need to lock cams and crankshaft ;)

Hi, Thank you for your bringing the idea to remove timing cover without removing timing belt. I think also depend what the work you want to do too. Change the belt, seals, broken pulley or fix oil leak on timing cover. Also do not forget if you have right tool to do the work. Thank you.

Thank you so much for reply! Anyway I think it's possible to remove cam cover whithout removing a timing belt. Take a look: //secma-f16passion.forumactif.org/t1935-depose-arbre-a-came-f16-k4m
