+TheBeautifulDiversion I know you did not point to racism, but Shlemony did. For some in Oakland you cannot blame anything on the African American community at all. So showing mug shots of blacks only is a turn off to many in Oakland. They won't support your cause. Someone may consider to clarify the lack of other ethnic groups in the video. Also some reference on how to get involved would be good, including on the YouTube website.

+S habeliI am well aware of that. In fact, I am studying international relations because trafficking is very much a global problem. I was not pointing to racism. Instead, I was just explaining to Shlemony why the offenders in this particular documentary  could have been mostly black. Trust me, I couldn't care less about the race of a trafficker. Crime is not exclusive to race.

Most people in Oakland are black and this documentary was specifically about International Blvd in Oakland. If this were a documentary about somewhere in Russia, the traffickers would most likely be white. It's all a matter of geography.

I have yet to see a documentary like this that wasn't completely full of shit as far as their "statistics" like "one out of every two children is molested". Really? That means that half of all your friends were either molested, or they are child molesters. I'd love to see what the real truth is. It is pure bullshit that "most of the prostitutes are children" like this film claims.

The statistics are from reliable sources, from local organizations to the Oakland Police Department. We could only document what we know. The sad part is that many times the statistics report lower that the reality of the situation. Many youth cases go unaccounted for.
