Hi Caren. Thanks for viewing the video. Yes, encaustic takes a lot of patience and skill to control. The pieces that I will be exhibiting are pretty large. The largest is called "An Interval of Zen, Cosmos and Dewdrops". It's made up of six panels when installed measures 8ft wide x 4ft high. That's a lot of wax. The other two are pretty large as well. I really enjoyed making this paintings and I think you'll enjoy seeing them. Please come out and see the show! It's nothing like seeing encaustic art in person.
Even though I don't live in the D.C. area I might make a special trip just
to meet the artists and see their work in person. It looks like it would be
worth my time.
Oh Trang, you won't regret it. The artists showing in this exhibition are really talented. They each have a unique story behind their work. And just in case you do miss the opening we'll have a closing reception on the 4th of March at 6pm, where each will give a short artist talk. It would be great if you could make both receptions. I'll look for you there, so don't be shy to come and introduce yourself. Each artist will be wearing a name tag. Looking forward to meeting you!
