Cost is a factor, 3 Dollars for 3 liters cows milk, nine dollars for the same of soy, or almond. Most in this society would not even know this, they just buy what they can afford, which is cheapest. Sadly that is the one that causes the most agony to cows. The look in the mother cows eye when they take that calf, and how neatly they change the terms to describe that animal, no longer a baby cow, but VEAL. A nicely invented word, why don't they call it Road Accident Violence and War. The same as BEEF, or PORK. Remove the idea that this is someone, this is a leg or arm or thigh of a living breathing consciouss being. What kind of society is this. Also the same for bread, the white bread crap is 85 cents a loaf, full of chemicals, the organic sour dough is 8 dollars. To most poor, which will they buy? But which is the most damage. To have your own cow would be ideal, but in the city they will say, that is 'livestock'. You cannot keep livestock as a pet. Why not? I love cows. Some devotee says well you go to the hills and adjist from a farmer the land and buy a cow. And look after it. My god, do they realize what vet bills are like these days. It has to be a collective force to change, it can't be pouring guilt on the individual who in most cases is totally ignorant of the trauma they are causing to the animals.

You would be crazy to think that any Vaishnava, lover of Krishna, the PROTECTOR of cows and brahmins, would ever approve of violence done to the cow in the name of any health benefit or taste benefit. It is laughable that the same arguments that are used to support meat eating are now being used by those who are so attached to the so-called benefits of milk that they will SUPPORT the demoniac methods of milk production in the modern, efficient, factory farming system. If you are drinking so much milk that your intelligence has become clearer, how is that you cannot see this simple truth? Unbelievable, my dear devotees! Adjust your priorities.
