Also I can remove dowels and strings to put the shade in my washing machine (which I really wanted). This is the best video I found to describe how to make a Roman Shade.

+David Wood How about attaching the blind to one of those curtain poles that sit in the recess of your window? You unscrew them until they fit, no drilling required...

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I feel like I am all set to start making my own other than a few minor hang ups. Could you please tell us the name of the tape you used for your dowels. I found something called Roman Blind Tube Tape but it doesn't seem to have a place to attach rings. Could you also describe the rings? It's very hard to see what you are using in the video.

Not very helpful as it does not address the bottom dowl which from the kit i have is bigger than the sleeves as you go up the blind ..

These simple no sew blinds are 100 not safe and go against the AU safety standard for window coverings. This is a big NO NO for homes where children live or visit. Kids can get their heads trapped between the material and the cord. #GoCordless A sheer material should be glued to the back to cover the exposed cords to ensure no little ones get their hands on them. :)

+Parents for Window Blind Safety these are designed for people with no kids, yes they seem like simpletons but this video is 10X better than any other video on the internet. all other ones do exactly the same thing but just a lot more boring. yes i do wish they put a backlining on it and yes i wish they went into more detail but as a victorian aussie i think this is a good example even if they don't meet the government standard of blinds and btw if you are +Parents for Window Blind Safety then why are you looking at how to DIY blinds AND not looking at window tinting Laws or atleast window tinting videos for victorian laws. I Call CHECK. anyone wana CHECKMATE me on this one?
