Good video. Everything is just a game to them from the start. I'm doubtful shit can be avoided even if you're aware of these signs. They're experienced, calculating and have no conscience. Because they're experts at disguising their abuse as something else, being in love, being insecure themselves and so on, will always be hard to recognize it. Still useful to know the sings. I also like TA, looking at relations that way, to avoid toxic people infiltrating your life.

Yes, the narcissist goes from idealizing you to degrading you, and will repeat the pattern as necessary. In the beginning, your wonderful, perfect, gorgeous, sexy ... but you quickly become stupid, ugly, mean, etc. Anyone who tells you that they LOVE you after only speaking with you a few times is either desperately insecure or trying to manipulate you ... or both. I'm very glad you got out, and are getting back on track!

Unfortunately, the start to dealing with any mental problem is admitting it, which narcissists almost never do. Someone I know with some experience in this field who has met my abuser gave me her chances of recovery as a percentage, placing it somewhere in the lower teens. It is effectively incurable :(

It would mean acknowledging there is something wrong with them and that they can do wrong. They seem to make their own reality, sometimes during and sometimes after the fact. Clowns have been seen all the way back in Egypt through to their jester form for kings. Where modern clowns came from idk, but I made up the idea that the "doctors" started the tradition.
