What exactly is it everyone thinks a basic EMT was going to do for an asthma attack? Even with an ambulance, AND a partner, a basic EMT can do little or nothing for an asthma attack. The media did a fine job of whipping everyone into a frenzy over this and vilifying the woman, but if she went in the back room there is NOTHING SHE COULD HAVE DONE.

+Boston Tommysomeone with asthma cant be helped without medications or intubation PERIOD!!!.I have yet to meet an asthmatic who "calmed down" with the sight of seeing me.....if you cant breath you cant breath......medications and equipment are things an off duty dispatcher/emt DO NOT  to carry around 24/7.....dispatchers don't even have equipment....she called her dispatch center directly to get her help....she never made contact with the girl so there for she had no obligation to stay....that would have been patient abandonment.......her staying wouldn't have changed the outcome...you fucking idiots need to drop the "she's been trained" line.....you cant give care to an asthmatic without meds......people die from asthma EVERYDAY.....IT HAPPENS.......people die in general......

she didn't even look after her. she didn't care at all and she's proud of.somebody with this attitude is supposed to help us?wonder what she would feel like if she was dying and there were 2 emts in the next room.
