+Lyndal McNulty Luke also said "plaid shirts" similar to Michael and then immediately corrected himself by saying it correctly. So I'm sure Michael knows the pronunciation now :) Everyone has words they say incorrectly though.

yeah he mis-pronounced it like it is phonetically written. Australians don't really use the word "plaid" we normally say flannel or flannelette (any kind of material that have the "plaid" design, even shirts that are cotton and not made out of the flannel material) and we pronounce it plad like 'glad' (silent "i") so maybe he has seen it written and doesn't know that the "i" doesn't make the "ay" sound like in 'plain'. I'm sure his production crew or managers have seen this and probs corrected him by now so he doesn't keep making the mistake.
