That was my Thomy Shuu flavor... Snack-a-rama, crack-a-rama... You get it. I'm not worried about it. I need to repaint a handful of spots at some point. Right now, I'm in assembly mode. Will address my stupidity later in life.

They had the plastic from 58 to 69. They last 4 years they had the glass. A lot of guys go with the plastic on the restorations of late models to save the headache... Plus the glass is expensive to replace if it breaks.

Greg, noce! I was sad to hear you cracked the bodywork but as you said, the top wasn't going to fit without clearnacing that hole - so a mans gotta to what a mans gotta do!

I'm behind on everyone's vids. I need to check out the chevelle. I haven't seen your vids in my cue which tells me YT has lost my sub for you.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Keep your fingers crossed. I need to put another day or two into the top, then it's carpet and seats. After that, trim and details. It's close.

Yay...you got it sorted...As for the crack in the bodywork...That sucks but I've done it myself too.!!..I just said bugger but no biggie.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
I was pleased as punch with the hot water trick. Darrin has yet to lead me astray. The crack sucks, but I know a guy who can fix it!!!
https://gp3.googleusercontent.com/-kQ99PTOa9Ck/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/EAsO7w3CPLQ/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Sux that the bodywork cracked. You going to try to do a spot repair on it, or you still thinking about an overall respray?
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Thanks. It has been painful the last couple weeks knowing the possible answer and not having time to try it out.
https://gp3.googleusercontent.com/-kQ99PTOa9Ck/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/EAsO7w3CPLQ/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Very creative fix Greg! VWdarrin has all the answers! Nice work in executing the solution. Top is looking good.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
I have a hand steamer on my list for doing the rest of the interior... Gotta find a good deal on one somewhere.
https://gp3.googleusercontent.com/-03qpveUtnEY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/xtc9lmdvKwQ/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Hot towel trick worked, I am surprised but never doubt any advice from Darrin. Too bad about the crack.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Yeah, the crack sucked, but oh well. I've had worse setbacks. Get off your loafin meat and get busy!
https://gp5.googleusercontent.com/-JM9HUDvUytA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/sPeAWCdTaTs/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
It looks like you just about have that car finished. The interior will probably go pretty fast.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Yeah, the crack sucked, but it's life. I'm happier about the top than I am sad about the crack.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Agreed. It worked out really sweet. Now maybe I can get on with the rest of the restoration!!!

I think you are right Milo. I will give it plenty of time to s-t-r-e-t-c-h!!! Apparently the gov't has started allowing non-factory materials to be used on tops, so you should be clear to have a canvas top installed on your little buggie!!!
https://gp4.googleusercontent.com/-GVLhZ9-KWNU/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/COAa4vQoHBw/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
wow I know you must be getting excited now it's getting closer and closer .pretty soon you'll be taking that car out for its first debut car show I'm looking forward to that video .....Fins up..... your friend from Florida Eric .
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-rwVYYeuGd8U/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TdVyGrppflc/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Congratulations on the top it looks good from what we could see on this video. Is your tree really still up in the living room? That reminds me of my childhood when we begged our Mother to let us keep it up....
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-jcw1uDKNMd0/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/dae7yOB2jp4/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
You gotta give it up to them for taking the old top back since they didn't use the correct pattern. I get that everyone makes a mistake but it's the good shops that make them right in the end!!
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
There is a headliner, then a layer of 1-1/2" foam. I suspect you could call that insulation. I don't know the R value of upholstery foam. It's better than a typical "rag top" for sure.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
We were taking the tree down when the post lady rang the doorbell. I'd prefer to just shove the thing in the closet and drag it out at thanksgiving next year. The top looks incredible.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-9w8u9Nh2EMY/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/TQjRC6Hn7uU/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
HAHA!! The tree was getting packed up when we made the vid. It went up late, so we left it a bit longer than usual. Good to hear TMI does good work. The top is excellent.
https://gp6.googleusercontent.com/-iFwKk39KBO8/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/hCb9MFToIq8/s48-c-k-no/photo.jpg?sz=64
Phew thats a relief, going to look really nice, looking forward to the fitting vid, going to put a convertible top on Vincent the Vitesse, so that vid will help a lot!!
