+Hanif angel Deleting viruses has to be the easiest thing, and i wouldn't recommend doing it as show in the video. If there's a shortcut to the program that you think is a virus on your desktop you just need to trace the installation route of the program and delete all of it's files.

This is the Windows 10 64bit work around I have been working on for the last 48 hours, some things to understand 1st * This only works on Windows 10 64 bit (x64) as 64 bit windows has two program files folders, * it's not perfect, you will need to move folder "Program Files (x84)" back to the root drive (c:\) when some updates fail to install Start by installing Windows 10 on your Device, then at the settings screen (also known to old folks as the Welcome screen) Press CTRL + SHIFT + F3, this will reboot Windows in to the desktop, in a mode known as Audit Mode (it allows OEM's to install Drivers, Programs, even spam with out making a user account or even given you a hint they did that)Once at the desktop, you will be able to open the registry editing program known as regedit (love that name) open it by pressing that start button and typing regedit, then press enter, or type run then enter then regedit then enter again up to you, go to : ''HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion" plus (+) and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion'' Change only "Program Files (x84)" directories, to the drive letter (E:\) in most cases, by giving them the good old double click and ok next move to : "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList" do the same thing, with all keys once that's done, restart the computer with the Windows 10 disk/usb in, once at the langrage screen, press SHIFT + F10 (Fn key if needed to) This will open the CMD, command line, enter the following in : Note drive letters change in this world, soo you might want to type notepad, then open, then my computer and see what the drive letter is now robocopy "C:\Users" "D:\Users" /E /COPYALL /XJ robocopy "C:\Program Files (x86)" "D:\Program Files (x86)" /E /COPYALL /XJ robocopy "C:\ProgramData" "D:\ProgramData" /E /COPYALL /XJ rmdir "C:\Users" /S /Q rmdir "C:\Program Files (x86)" /S /Q rmdir "C:\ProgramData" /S /Q mklink /J "C:\Users" "E:\Users" mklink /J "C:\Program Files (x86)" "E:\Program Files (x86)" mklink /J "C:\ProgramData" "E:\ProgramData" Now reboot, once at the desktop check everythings working and nothings going cr@zy or doing cr@zy stuff you should try going to drive (D:\) or what ever you set it as, and open the Iexplore file, just to check it works, if it don't open, you have made a error typing, and you should go back and try again, notice that window in the middle of the desktop, just click restart on it, and you will be taken back to the settings screen, make your accounts and enjoy using windows apps and programs the way you want to on the drives you want to, but wait, you have more work to do thanks to Microsoft -_- update Windows 10 fully, you will notice some will fail, like windows as a whole really lol, you will have to copy the "Program Files (x86)" folder back to your root drive, (c:\) don't delete the one left behide, change the registry back to how it was for "Program Files (x86)" directory, leave the old folder where it is, or you will course a problem, update windows then change the whole thing back again, you may now delete the old program files folder, move the updated one back to the drive, remake the mk link, I know! but it updates, and that's the only working work around I can come up with for now
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Adam Watts (SignedAdam) that's why it's not a good enough solution and I I have a couple of idea on how to fix it if I'm right there are like 4 folders in Program Files (x86) that need to stay on the C drive what that means is that you copy and link the sub folders to the D drive and when you install a program that doesn't do what you want it to do IE instantly install on the C drive you just copy it over to the d drive and link it. now this may seem tedious but it will only be tedious the first time you do it. I have no tested this but I'm 90% certain it will work. also there should be many programs that you would install involving upgrades to your pc after about a week. so this fix works if you build a self cleaning pc like I have. if your worried about video games and steam you can set those to another drive they won't complain.

Excellent video you explain everything very detailed. Only one thing I couldn't access my new formated HDD drive (D:/) and it didnt display as a volume when i used diskpart to see my available drives, because it had no letter assigned to it so i had to physically remove the drive and using the storage management from another computer i was able to assign the drive letter so i could continue the process. Thank you very much for this very helpfull tutorial

+Maixe Chrys Although after using i seem to have issues...I have 2 twin systems with only one difference, one is using only one ssd and the other (with the issue) is using the above configuration (ssd&hdd). It seems that the last system is having some problems detecting devices and detecting running programs. To be more specific i have the razer orbweaver and altough it works fine on the twin system running only on ssdon the other system ssd/hdd it doesnt get regognized by razer synapse. Its working but i cannot get synapse to regognize it..Also i play arma 3 and when i use a launcher it sais that steam.exe is not running but steam IS running...I dont really understand what is wrong, but i am sure it is the configuration...Maybe there is a way to mannualy browse the device and the running program...Please help, any reply to this issue will be higly appreciated i am sure there are others out there with the same problem, i really like this configuration and i dont feel like formatting and transferring the files mannually...

+Claudio Venegas I just realize what was my mistake in te process. I did a clean install again and follow all the process again but after editing the registry I did a reboot to the system without finishing the process of creating the User until I get to the desktop, now did it and is working fine. Thanks for this useful tutorial.

THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT ON WINDOWS 10: What you need to do is install windows 10 ether upgrade or from scratch IT DOES NOT MATTER. make sure it's fully setup. after it is installed restart your comp and load up the windows 10 media disc or usb. if you don't have one JUST MAKE ONE it's free through Microsoft you DON'T need a Number to get it. after it loads up and you get to the screen that you would proceed to with install DON'T CLICK ANYTHING. Instead press SHIFT + F10 it will bring up Command prompt. in command prompt launch notepad by typing "notepad" it will open notepad go to save and find your C drive or whatever drive has you are using. you will need to create ANY FOLDERS THAT ARE MISSING AND NAME THEM PROPERLY. So after that's all done do the above IN THE VIDEO, but you don't have to wait for ProgramData just do it right then in the command prompt. Now back out of the command prompt and the windows 10 install. and log in to windows 10, once in go to the search and type regedit. It will open the registry finish what is explained in the video with the registry editing. after that you are done. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-pzEQtdS0BSE/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAcU/AFmD0qZ228k/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Musica - if you help me sort this out I may even post a video about how to do it, showing people how to do it, a real video like this guy didthis is what I have found out so far, moving just "program files (x86)" on its own allows you to still use the windows apps on a 64 bit computer, as there are two program folders, however this is what makes the update problem, as all updates them self's, must point to the c:\ drive,
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
I haven't had the time to run tests my weeks have been packed however I will say for the most part my solution that i stated above is stable i don't have any real issue besides updates sitting there doing nothing and that isn't a real issue yet. so It's not on the top of my to do list. the fact is to come up with a solution will take me a day and I don't have the time to do that.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-pzEQtdS0BSE/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAcU/AFmD0qZ228k/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Musica - Please someone work out a fix
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Musica yea it seems to work initially put then drivers will stop functioning randomly and I lose all my windows 10 apps. I will be testing some ideas too and will post if I find a stable solution.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+ImJoeYouKnow so here's the issue with windows 10 you can move the user folder and you won't have a problem (have not tested it but Microsoft says it's okay), but you move anything else and updates won't install, and various programs won't install. at this time I'm still testing the fact is microsoft said fuck you to SSD users. By missing folder i meant stuff like Nvidea no matter what you do they stick a stupid temp folder on the c drive so i just create that link when I link the rest of the drive.I have a couple of Ideas but I don't have the time till next weekend to test them. most likely I'm going to have to keep the folders on the c drive and them junction the internal folders elsewhere when some programs force install to the C drive and ignore the registry that says to install on the D drive. yeah it's a pain in the ass but I don't think I have a solution right now besides that idea. setting that up the first time will take hours so I'm not doing that this weekend.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-oR3AgF9VO64/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABo/oJkVR9m997A/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Musica So if I have windows 7 installed using this method in the video. Can I then do what u said in the comment. Also what does this "create ANY FOLDERS THAT ARE MISSING AND NAME THEM PROPERLY." mean?
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Musica even more info so idk why but messing with the registry to tell applications to install on another drive as the standard location causes issues with windows update and the app store. based on what I'm reading and seeing windows is doing this on purpose.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Musica More info you don't need a windows 10 install disc any 7 and up disc will work from what I'm reading
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-6sjl8sUp4ZI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAMM/uh7wS-FnOIc/photo.jpg?sz=64
Have you ever had issues with installing/activating Microsoft Office with this setup configuration? I have been having issues with Office on a fresh computer setup with this configuration. Not sure if this is the issue or something else is so I thought I would ask.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-3Nmjc47GVa4/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAACA/F6rzljI4MOE/photo.jpg?sz=64
+Quillan Daniel I haven't encountered any issues on my own machine or any of the machines I have built for clients using this setup, no. Have you tried running the Office software as Administrator before trying to activate? I have found that sometimes with Office 2013 you need to run Word or Excel as Administrator for the online activation to go through.

Recover Windows Files From A Corrupted System With BackTrack [Tutorial]

Is Backtrack Linux a possible option for recovering files from a currupted or failed SATA IDE hard drive that has been removed, and reconnected via USB? That is my situation, and I'm wondering if Backtrack is a better option for providing more user control over selecting and restoring these files. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I think it displays as 11GB rather than 10 because Linux correctly displays Gigabytes unlike Windows which shows Gibibytes. They're both the same actual size however. 1GB = 1000MB = 1000000KB = 1000000000bytes 1GiB = 1024MiB = 1048576KiB = 1073741824bytes
