I'd always go with a 7.4v because it'll make the gun last longer and it has less chances of messing up something like the piston stripping...

C refers to current I believe. You can use a simply equation to find out the amperage. 2200mAh is 2.2 and you multiply it by C. 2.2 x 25 is 55 amps. 2.2 x 20 is 44 amps. Your gun will only use as much as it needs but some will burn the fuse if it's too much amps. I'm new to this too, so I can't give a more detailed description, but I know what I said is indeed correct.

Go with a 7.4v 2200mah 20-30C Li-po battery, unless you have really good internals i dont think the 11.1v will be good for the gun.

It'll run until the trigger contacts wear out/piston strips/gears fail. If you're fine with any of the above happening within ~20k rounds, then go for it.

Most everything of quality can take a 7.4v lipo out of the box, it will probably handle an 11.1v for a while, but it won't last very long without proper prep and parts.

Nimhs are 100% safe to run 100% flat.

I'm pretty sure once the NiMH guns are low voltage they shoot slow and you KNOW when your battery is dead.  As far as I'm aware this lower voltage wont hurt NiMH.
