+TAFishing Hi guys, low profile is how the multiplier baitcaster reel sits on the rod (side plates hanging sideways under centre of the blank, almost..). I got me cheap but decent light baitcaster reels and tried those on a 12 foot (quite stiff two piece, original seat is igged for fixed spool but a FS6 I tied on made that a perfect spinner rod.) and a whacky soft dirt cheap 18 foot telescopic thing with a gazillion tiny rings... and the low profile reel worked without birdsnests on both, which means I could cast half an ounce on that long pole, and 2 ounce on the 12 footer, the 12 footer cast it out twice the distance with ease. sbirolino cast very long way out on the stiff one. I was aiming for sea-bass with the stiff one, and perch in creeks and canals with the long pole (because I could just lower the bobber into the margins under trees, or cast to the opposite side of the canal some 30 yards away. ) I still have a LOT to learn, but I know that what some call wrong tools still catch the right bait. +Diego Medina Don't know what low profile means,but here in the UK a baitcaster would only be about 6 feet long on average,and not really long enough for casting a light float.Our float rods would be 9 to 13 feet long for better casting.

Yes. You have to get them as soon as they pop up and rinse them with fresh water. Going out at night with a weak head torch is a far more effiecinet. Quicker and better way. I spent 30 mins out at night and got about 40. They were all between 10 and 25 cm.
