the weight of a filter has nothing to do with the quality. It is impossible to tell the quality of the paper element in the filter by looking at the element inside of the filter.

+Lee Larson there is a pill in some of them. it depends on what kind you get. but they all have filter media

+mopar ecodiesel (dotcom) I have always been under the impression that coolant filters had time release conditioner beads in them that extend coolant life.........maybe I'm wrong. Or perhaps that's only a Caterpillar thing?
