Oh for fuck sake, i had one like that in my local post office. She wanted to skip me in the queue to get her giro because she was in a hurry because she had a race coming up for a punt at the bookies. I was in there to actually post a fucking package. Wrapping paper is a pure waste. The 360 update is good, i prefer it to the old dashboard.

hello my xbox 360 has the three red rings error code 0020. im wondering if there is an easy an very cheap way of fixing that. i wanna play my xbox 360 again. damn microsoft nd their cheaply made consoles. i am not liking sony either bcause my fukin 60 gb ps3 has the yellow light of death. im thinking bout making a video expressing my anger towards these issues. if u could help me with both of them that would be awesome. i think i can get the paste but probly not the flux. message me bak plz & ty

You are absolutely correct, this method is not reliable enough to use it for a repair service, people should be more careful when selecting a repair provider. My point was that while you make a valid and important statement, when you use terms like fucking duechebag and stupid assholes you give away your credibility and make more people view what you say as rubbish. I understand your frustration, but when you have something important to say, it's just as important how you say it. Thank you too.

This method is the cheap mans fix. If you follow these directions perfectly it is the exact same as a using a reflow station. AND THERE IS NO DEFINITE PERMANENT FIX!!!! These consoles are crap made so they WILL fail again. It's just a question of WHEN! The professionals, us included, us high priced hot air rework station like the Auyoe 968, only because they come with thermal tracking to make sure the board stays at an even temp. But the science here is the same. GOOD LUCK!!!

I also have a griddle that I can use, it's pretty similar to the one in the video. I want to keep the board from warping.. I've read about past failures with people trying just a heat gun and it seems the lack of heat distribution always seems to be the problem. The fact that the chip can be removed from board with a heat gun tells me that you can put it back onto the board/reflow it. There are tons of videos showing this is possible with just a heat gun. I want to reball

You should post that PS3 tutorial, I'm very interested in seeing all methods and techniques in advance of developing my own tutorial and methods to do a reball without a reworking station. I purchased a kit a few days ago on Ebay that came with the stencils, solder balls, a GPU/CPU holder. I have flux/soldering iron to clean the board/chips. Heatgun with 2-settings (300c/500c) and have been working on electronics throughout highschool and the past 3 years afterwards.

B: The case is open to the air, and he wasn't going to start up a game, so no need for the fan or shroud for a 15 second demo that shows the system turns on. C: The temperature of the bolts would only be 176.6 Celsius (350 F) max, less since they'd lose some heat to the air, and that's nowhere near enough to damage anything, and I'm sure they're only touching empty areas of the board.

hey man great video, very helpful. would this method work for a 3 red light 0020 if i did an xclamp replacement then reflowed the GPU and possibly the RAM? i have messaged a repair guy on youtube claiming that these methods are not a permanent fix, claims all of these repairs are incorrect but he will not share any of his own methods LOL! i just think hes tryin to put a few extra bucks in his pocket. if you can help me send me a message man, many thanks

@djjackb07 The only perm fix is reballing with lead solder. Lead free solder when rapidly heated and cooled many times will develop hairline cracks and the joint(s) will eventually go cold (not conduct electricity). So the only permanent fix is to reball the gpu. Which is done by heating to ~750F (melting point of lead free solder) lifting the gpu, removing the solder, and replacing with leaded solder, then installing the chip back onto the board.

Thats crazy that computer repair stores wouldn't have it, I am a PC repair guy myself and have had several HP DV2000, DV 6000 models with the same poor design with the GPU's and had to do similar fixes, but I didn't use flux, and after some time the problems came back. I have got about 3 xboxes with RROD coming my way and want to fix and flash firmware on the DVD drives for, well I'm sure you know! So were the screws self tapping or something?

You might be a repair person, you might even be good, but you are anything but professional. I wouldn't trust someone with your attitude to blow the dust out of my xbox. Reball is definitely the way to go, of course half of the services offering that don't do it right and have horrible customer service. I'm just saying, if you want to build a reputation for yourself as a professional, this isn't the way to do it.

So I' sent my xbox to Microsoft a year for ago for red ring and got a replacement one where it has those pads on the ram chips. I got red ring again and did xclamp fix. Now a month and a half latter I got e 74 (H ANA) chip error. I'm planning on reflowing the H ANA chip, do you think I should use that flux you were talking about, if so can i get it at Home depot or some hardware store? Also 2 minutes for 1 chip?

The point is to stop this kind of repair not increase my reputation, people do this..it doesnt work...they sell it as is to someone on ebay and its not worth the shipping to return it. People also see this work once and use it as a legitimate fix, buy boxes and re-sell them as professionally repaired only tho have them break in a month. Never the less I'm out so its all moot. Whats the deal with the screw's can you explain it a bit more? Ive never used a griddle, but I am planning on it. Did you put the screws in the holes where the heatsink legs come through? Basically, how high should the mobo be off the griddle? Also what temp did you set it to in the beginning, and what temp did you set it to to cool down? Did you gradually reduce it over the 25 mins or w.e?

What tools do you use in photoshop to draw your characters? It almost looks like vector/pen tool but then it would make more sense if you were working in illustrator? Also I have that book & was surprised that the technique worked so well when I first tried it!
