In fact, each down starts with a backward pass, called the "snap," from the center to the quarterback (or sometimes directly to the running back), and the quarterback then often hands the ball (technically a backward pass) to the running back or even tosses it backward to him.

+DieFlabbergast yeah i am gonna go down to practice to get into my local team when training starts again after xmas. i already have a friend who plays in it and my dag is a big fan and used to play himself. back when he used to play he got the most tackles of the year 2 years in the row with 108 tackles in 1 season of 10 games as a D linebacker so things are really looking up for me. also he could even help in coaching the team.
