The same way, You just go back down to the bottom and it either says turn back on or unlock. I've had to lock and unlock it agin though, so it's not a permanent fix.

+Danny_ Playz Mine is the same, and I kept dealing with it all the time but suddenly turning it off didn't work. I figured out myself, that if you lock restricted mode on (Requires password), and then turn it back off, it works. Well at least for me.

+Robaus Dye For most of us, we could do the same. But after a while it just keeps turning back on and sometimes locks it self on. You assume that you know everything.

for the top comment above, about your h t t p s and h t t p proxy, if your on a mac, disable safety mode, quit google chrome(thats what i use, would probs work on other browsers, but anyway, u want to quit the browser) then you want to go to system preferences/network/advanced/proxies and tick the boxes next to the names -h t t p /s. Dont enter any ip address or username, unless you have a mulit user network, like schools. And reopen google chrome/browser, enter youtube, and it should be fine :D

I FOUND THE SOLUTION (workaround) : 1-scroll down and Turn off the safety mode 2-Page will refresh with a green box saying "Successfully disabled Safety Mode" ALTHOUGH it didn't. 3-now in the SAME page add this before the URL : (h t t p s: //) 4-Scroll down , safety mode should be turned off now 5- Enjoy :) The reason behind this is YOUR network , for some weird reason, safety mode can only be turned off while in (h t tp s) NOT (h t t p). Like to help others.

go to the little icon on the very right of the screen, and click it. A list of options will come down. then you will click on history. When you are there click on clear browsing data, and only check the cookies box. once you've cleared the browsing data, go back to youtube. go down to the bottom of the page and click on safety. it will then show you two boxes to check, "on" or "off" check "off" and save. and then your ready to go!

it works on me... using mozilla and not IE heres how u do it go to history, *Clear reCent history *Choose everthing *CliCk details, *CheCk All except the last two options.. and then go for it.. after that your all ok, and the safety Mode is off.. dont forget to save off on your safety mode when u go bak to ur homepage. ENJOY :)

Uh... PMing is a part of YT so YT would be able to find out anyways, but it's not like they care much. People have made tons of videos on how to disable it and YT doesn't take them down or anything. I would really like to know how you did though, so could you PM me? Thanks in advance!

What I think you have to do is go to the internet options on your COMPUTER when your using Chrome, since Chrome doesn't have a direct link to Internet options. I found it in the Control panel, but I have windows too.. I hope you do, or else I don't know how useful this will be.

If it didn't work for you,you should have just went to m.youtube.com.Please note that this is the mobile website,in which this means that you're able to turn Safety Mode off,even if it's locked in the desktop website.

My problem was that I was not signed into youtube.com The Internet Options have changed for Firefox, but if you can clear your cookies, you should be able to get it done. Thanks, Dude!

I just clued inwhile turning safety mode off, that every time you turn Safe search ON in google, it changes it on youtube as well. This could be just on Chrome though.

scroll down to the bottom of the page on YouTube and you will se the dropdown menu for safety. You might do it two times. But after turning it off just hit save. :)
