Do you really think the american public knows nothing about the world. Obviously you havent met an american. Yes our public school system sucks but our universities are unrivaled throughout the world. And ther are idiots, a lot of them, but there are over 300 million people in america and 500,000 idiots is almost nothing.

All I have to say is that way too many of the commenters here are criminally naïve and immature. It's amazing how much of the American public grows to adulthood without ever gaining ANY kind of understanding of the world and international conflicts and military necessities. It's stunning how many supposedly American citizens are in favor of colossally irresponsible and UN-American wholesale socialism, but refuse to understand the absolute necessity of sufficient military spending in an incredibly dangerous world. Bead-wearing hippies, Lefties, pseudo-environmentalist greenies, socialists, "progressives," liberals, and all of those who prefer spending money on programs that are either flatly UN-Constitutional or criminally irresponsible, such as obamaphones, welfare, "social justice," ILLEGAL aliens, fraudulent S.S. disability, bloated federal bureaucracies and the criminal Federal Dept. of "Education" . . . all of these people and their treasonously wasteful spending on vote-buying through redistribution of income are crowding out Constitutionally legitimate defense spending. America has an increasingly immature, self-indulgent, irresponsible and criminally naïve citizenry that elects an increasingly UN-American political class that is destroying our country.

If the USA cut there budget by 80% they still would have the world largest defense budget
