A Milford Township woman is facing child endangerment charges after her
2-year-old son tested positive for methamphetamine, according to police.
The indictment comes nearly three months after a man was arrested and
charged with running a meth manufacturing operation from the same Butler
County home in the 2800 block of Scott Road.
Caroline Lissal was indicted for endangering children, a third-degree
felony, and drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony, on Wednesday.
Michael Murray was arrested on March 18 for drug possession and
manufacturing charges relating to the incident at the Scott Road home.
"I hope everyone hears this loud and clear," said Butler County Sheriff
Richard Jones. "Those of you committing these criminal acts need to think
about the dangers you are surrounding your children with. The B.U.R.N. task
force worked diligently on this case and this kind of stuff bothers
everyone.
"I genuinely hope this child will be okay and lead a better life than the
way it has started for him."
Officials said that the chemicals in the home were so dangerous that
Milford Township emergency officials were used for safety in case of an
explosion.
Lissal is currently being held in the Butler County Jail.
