@arabjin666 Oh and btw, atheists are least arrogant than their theistic brothers. We don't assume self importance, we don't see this incomprehensibly VAST empty universe designed with us in mind. We don't claim to know the answer to everything - these are all things which theists (particularly the religious ones) claim. It's like watching an ignoramous claim scientists are arrogant, when scientists are the ones who B-R-U-T-A-L-L-Y test their own ideas and evidence to see if it's true.

Humans are born with an innate curiosity which leads to things like science- religion merely exploited this and takes credit for that which it does not deserve. The arrogance of these Atheists never ceases to amaze me. No wonder god hates them. Their knowledge compare to god is like a drop of water to the ocean. Apparently Matt never read about the Islamic golden age and how Muslims were inspired by god to seek knowledge. They excelled in medicine,algebra, astronomy, etc. It was a single verse in the Quran that transformed the Arabs from being one of the most ignorant people in earth to being the smartest/educated people in their time.

Anger diminishes with understanding, your god seems to have none. Hence why I believe that IF there were a god who were all-knowing and all-powerful, it would not be the god of the bible/koran who is sooooo stupid. I beat a 35-year drinking problem in spite of Alcoholics Anonymous and their 12-step religious nonsense masquerading as "spirituality". They tell you that if you leave the program (think "cult"), you will almost certainly soon face drunkenness, insanity, or death. After enduring a miserable year surrounded by profoundly delusional people, I got out of that cult three years ago. I'm doing fine, and I never drink. No problem. Screw that higher power bullshit.

AA saved many many people..kids..families. You hate the idea of the belief in God, fine..but do not demean that which has proven to work for so many people. If you did it without AA or such beliefs, I applaud that too..it saved lives either way. Don't hate on people because they needed a belief in that which you do not. Belittle thier belief, call them delusional...there are families where the kids got their parents back..anything else is unimportant.

It is okay for you to lie to people if that would make them feel good. In fact, many people justified "white lies" and often used them. "Oh no, you are not as fat as they think you are, it's fine." Even though you may not think so, you still say this to comfort someone who's just been verbally bullied. This is only one of the many examples. Moreover, honest delusion is different from lying, it's not deliberate deceit.

@nowayout001 I don't know why you have problems with it . Matt said he thinks the world would be better off if everyone were an atheist. He DIDN'T follow that statement with, "And therefore, we should try to deconvert everyone and force them to give up their beliefs." He has said on many shows that he would never make religion illegal. So there's no tyranny or oppression involved here.

I have serious problems with the way you say the world will be better off with everyone being Atheists (or something of the sort), because that reminds me of tyranny and oppression in history and that's seriously scary. It was the Catholic Church and the Muslim authorities you Atheists and Non-religious folks have been denouncing all this time... I find this so ironic.

I gave up alcohol on my own. I went to a couple AA meetings and was turned off by the religion. The thing is, if you want to stop, I mean you really want to stop, then it's not that hard at all. God(or the idea of a god) has nothing to do with it. ..and props to you for beating your addiction.

Alcoholics Anonymous has a retention rate of 5% or less, which is no better than going it on your own, therefore, AA is taking credit for "helping" people who probably would have stopped drinking on their own, which would make the organization's success rate 0%.
