A tomato sandwich is a southern thing - we do not use butter.. we use white bread (I actually use brown) mayonnaise on both sides, a few leaves of lettuce, sliced garden tomato, pinch of sugar, pinch of salt and pepper...cut off the rind if for guests..

You just made my my water so bad, I drulled all in the bed, and had to run to the bathroom to get a towel, I lie not ! LOL I'm a southern boy, and I eat tomatoes like this all the time when in season, fresh from the garden, and right now it's winter, and I haven't eat one in months, but watching this, I can honestly taste it, in my mouth right now! AWESOME!!!!

Wow, is right! I sell breads/muffins at our local farmers' market. Next week, I'm getting a haul of 'maters! I need to lay low on the salt too, but when you want it; you want it! Use Sea Salt! Thanks for sharing - so simple.

Nothing better than a tomato with a good quality Kosher salt! If I add anything it would be some dried dill and apple cider vinegar! If you want to add oil to yours go for it!

when i was a kid i used to take the salt shaker outside and pick tomatoes off the vines and eat them like apples. no better way to eat a tomato. perfection.
