you are a serious heavy monstroseous scholar of African American dance on film. Amazing sequence of stuff... I knew the source for the Earl "Snake Hips" Brown sequence (from the Brooklyn retrospective video) and of course the Betty Boop, but that was about it... A few of the clips I've seen "around" and kinda recognized but don't really know the original source (and wuold like to).... But the vast majority were totally new to me and I was absolutely transfixed. Didn't blink didn't move...

Hello Bruce! The device slash is using is called a talk box. I believe the one he uses is a Dunlop Heil model. (MSRP 179.99). The talk box is plugged in from the guitar to the amp but, when the button is pushed the sound from the guitar goes through a tube which is put in the mouth and the way you form your mouth will determine how the talkbox sounds. Hope this helped!

Great video. One of my favourit songs on the album. I was there, 6th row right across from Slash and by far my favourit of the 3 Slash concerts I attended thus far. Lucky Toronto - we got to see Slash 2x in the span of 6 months! March and September. My favourit Venues - Sound Academy and Kool Haus. The Phoenix SUCKED!
