I bought this exact mower around a year ago, and I absolutely love it, better cut quality than my Honda, ... last week the self propel speed working. .. it felt like it slipped or something, when you pull the lever it pulls the spring, but not enough to engage the self propel. .. does anybody have any ideas, or have had this same problem ?

Just clean the caked up grass from the underside of the mower. ..there is a hose nozel....leave the mower running, and him a house to the nozzle and turn the water on

Would you please explain how you cleaned the underside of the mower wrong? I sure do not want to do this. It seems as though the dealer or factory would have picked up the tab for a belt. I have not read any thing stated how it has to be cleaned a certain way or how someone could clean it wrong. My first thought was the belt being bad because mine slips at times with the bag full while the mower is climbing a small 30 ft long area in my yard that might be 6 degrees at the most. I am wondering if the belt is heavy enough. My 8 year old toro's belt never slipped on the same area. I have mixed feelings in regards to the Suburu engine it runs smooth nut seems to lack some power while mulching. But my Toro had a 7-3/4 HP engine but I was assured the smaller Suburu engine would be as powerful. But my Toro had a special B&S engine with a pressurized oil system meant for use on hills. So far other than the belt slipping it's a good mower. Thank you

Fixed it for me, that's where I bought it, I had to buy the belt, but labor was free...it was my fault because I hadn't cleaned the grass from under the deck properly, love this mower, and thanks for the response
