we are getting the voltage amplified but what about the current. I think buck boost converter will be a better choice

If you want it to arc all the time regardless of what it's touching you either make the prongs close enough to arc or you make a spark gap if you have the prongs too far away to arc.

@ J Superman Maximum input current depends on values of R1 and R2 multiplied with hfe of both transistors. By keeping proportion beetwen R1 and R2 lowering them both in value you can increase input current. With that also goes output current. With lower R1/R2 raise trip current of circuit. Examined on more inductive inductor

Your explain about how the circuit work is wrong what make the transistor T2 to be off ? not because it reach saturate if it reach saturate it means the current through the conductor will saturate the core and the transistor will damage the correct is when the transistor 2 open its collector current increase at the same time the current that go to the base of transistor 1 stop or become very little because the main current go to the easy way acroos T2 collector and so the two transistor stop
